Tucson RV parks
Headed that way soon, any tips besides Voyager?
Like to have something close to town, or in it

Check out Rin Con in Tucson. We stayed there in November ...and we were very happy. So happy in fact that we signed up to stay there a month from Feb 16 through March 15. If you want more info, call me at 916 838 8050.

We stayed at the KOA last fall for a week and it was very nice. Would definitely go back there again. Right in town and very close to a lot of sight seeing. Some might say a draw back might be it is across the highway from the Air Force Base and sometimes they can be a little loud during the day. But IMHO they can make all the noise they want while training to protect my freedom and safety!

x2 on the LazyDays KOA in Tucson. We stayed a month last year and will be there for 2 months this year, arriving probably Jan 2, lot 1500. We're headed out in the morning from SW MO, traveling it in 4 days.
Nice park, paved streets, gravel spaces, concrete patio, citrus trees on each lot, plenty of services, big club house, restaurant, and more. Located in south central Tucson, easy access off of I10 at Irvington st. just behind LazyDays RV Sales. It's near several big RV dealers including La Mesa and Camping World.
Look us up
Dave

Thanks for the responses, I had a nice chat with MP1, very nice guy. I checked out both Rincon parks, tons of activities I just wouldn't use, and a bit pricy for a cheap old fart such as I.
I spent the day checking out RV parks and shopping for leather, spent $450 for leather, so that part went well at least. Sold out all the 2 gym bags of our custom holsters at the first gun shop we went to, so that also went well, but still are looking for a new home.
I will look into the KOA, but they are usually pricy as well,
The folks at the gun shop told us to go to Cactus county, I sent them an email requesting rates. They are out east of town, so could be cheaper.
It was warmer yesterday, hope that is a trend that will continue, just glad we are out of Roswell.. Yikes! Snow bound there, we would be..

Here's a state park between Tucson and Casa Grande that's nice and has a good hike: http://azstateparks.com/Parks/PIPE/
Also, when in Tucson don't miss: http://www.tripadvisor.com/Restauran...n_Arizona.html to eat and: http://www.tripadvisor.com/Attractio...n_Arizona.html
The raptor show is worth the trip by it'self.

The Pima County fairgrounds has raised their rates to $23 a day and $115 a week.

Ron,
Will do that later on, right now want to TCOB in Tucson, then head to the Phoenix areas.
Eddie, thanks. I wanted to be in town this trip for above reason, the new park in town sounds good as well as the KOA if it isn't too pricey. Thanks to all for helping, hope this thread assists folks on a future search for Tucson parks.

Still another option for military (Active, National Guard, Reservists, Retired, 100% DAV, DoD civilians,) is Agave Gulch Fam Camp at Davis-Monthan AFB. http://www.dmforcesupport.com/FamCamp/famcamp.html

Ozz, we had stayed at Voyager. Too pricey? We only were there about a week in the off season, but it was very nice and close.

Thanks Darwin, like us up next year, we will have a pop together. :-)
The Voyager was nice, wanted something closer in, we will be visiting all the gun shops and want a more central location I like Stacey's suggestion and the KOA option so far
( even though they are pricey..). :-(
You pay for nice and close I guess.

He he, KOA is nice... Surprised they let this Ozark hick in with all these big fancy-pants rigs. Sue already picked two Lemons, gave her the lecture about 'what if everyone picked them, then there wouldn't be any left' she shushed me.. so I shut up and smelled the fresh Lemons. Nice.
Well, you can't take it with you, we paid for a week. Met the nice real estate Broker next to us in the Pheaton. He's real nice from Ruiodsa N.M. said it was snowed in there. He even wants to buy a holster from us
