Need info regarding a rear cap replacement
Hi guys. Long story short, on our way down to South Texas for Gate Guarding, stopped in Waco last Sat a week ago, tight campground, and I clipped a metal boundary pole and peeled back my rear cap. Got a emergency repair done on it and claim has been filed. Only thing, I know shops are backed up and Geico suggested CW, Not happening....May be December before ready to repair, maybe even in Sept if it can be done before the Beet Harvest in Oct. It has been mentioned that we go to Indiana. Where/Who would I contact anyone up there? Any idea on how long it would take to get it done? It is likely the entire rear cap. If more info is needed, just let me know. We are in South Texas now until Aug 31. At least, thats the plan. Thanks guys!
AC

I think you are referring to Affinity Group in Goshen Indiana.

I did the same on mine several years ago. Pulled the side of the rear cap loose and tore the fiberglass in several places. Checked google reviews for RV repair in the DFW area and found Coach Specialist of Texas in Mansfield, just south of the DFW area. They do fiberglass repair and said they could repair the cap rather than having to wait to get a new one that would take several weeks. I agreed.
Notified my insurance and dropped it off at their facility. They handled interfacing with my insurance, getting the go ahead for repairs, performed all the work, and had it ready to go 2 weeks later. And that spanned a long July 4th holiday eliminating 3 work day. Trailer looked great and could not tell it had ever been damaged.

I don't feel so bad now. I haven't clipped anything "knock on wood". I did back into the corner of my house roof with my Cougar and blew out the window. Entire rear wall needed to be replaced.

So I have a question about the rear clip. Is it possible to put a receiver hitch on a 2007 Monty 32RL? I have the same looking rear unit and had no idea whats under the fiberglass skin coat for frame and how to access the frame to apply a hitch without tearing into it.
right now the bikes ride inside and that a bit of a pain in the (un) rear!! couldn't resist the pun!

The frame is accessible underneath without having to go thru the fiberglass. I know many have added receivers on theirs. Someone should come in and tell how they did it. If not, start a new post specifically about adding a hitch and you will get more responses. Or try searching for rear hitch.
I carried my bikes on a pin box mounted hitch.

Rich Lazz: Search for "Hidden Hitch 82201" (now made by DrawTite?). It is an adjustable width hitch (up to 72" wide) that bolts onto the frame down under the rear cap. You will need a 12" long, 2" receiver hitch extender to get the mount location back out from under the rear cap. You can do this yourself. I had one on my 2005 2955RL.
OR
Get your local fabrication welder to make up a hitch and attach (weld?) it to the frame for you.

Good morning BeagleMan! I had very good luck in Junction City, Oregon at Bish RV. I had fiberglass repair completed and the J-Wrap painted there. The Body shop was amazing and worked with me to keep the cost down. Ask for Sue.
