Kitchen Refrigerator Access w/slides in

We are looking at a Montana as one of our picks for our first RV. My Wife likes the 3791RD. I've been looking at all the floor plans and see none that when the slides are in, can provide access to the refrigerator or for that matter the bed. I think it would be nice to be able to make a short stop for a rest without putting the slides out. Am I looking at this wrong. Totally new to the RV scene.

Our 3910FB lets us access the right side of the frig and the half bath with slides closed. Can also access the bed via a short hop. Never used the bed during a stop but absolutely yes on the frig and bathroom.

I have the 290RLT and it is a pain to have to open the slide a foot or so to get to the refrigerator. I cant just park on a street and get into the refrigerator. My large slide opens last unless I get to the manifold to close the valves to the bedroom and kitchen slides. I tend to use an ice chest for drinks and stuff so I don't have to open up to get something to eat or drink while traveling.

I know you are probable looking at new rigs but on my 2011 3455sa I can access 3 of the the fridge doors, all of the bathroom and the bedroom with all 4 slides in. This is a factor that many people do not pay attention to before they buy.

Part of the problem is when you go look at the 5er you like at the dealer they have it open so it looks all big inside so most people for get about what happens when you pull year slides in you can have them close the slides so you can see what it looks like closed up before you buy it that's what we did. because if they want to sale it they will
do most anything you wan't.

I have a 2018 3791 RD. You have to open the slide to get to the frig.

Access to the fridge is one of many tradeoffs to consider when comparing floorplans. We can get to the bathroom and bed with slides closed but not the fridge. We have not found that to be a show stopper but it is good that you are considering this as you compare models.

Our 2017 370 BR cannot get to the fridge with the slides in but do not see that as a negative. Getting to the bed and bathroom are our priority. While traveling we keep a cooler in the truck with drinks and snacks. When stopping for fuel there is always a restaurant if desired to eat in or have a to go order. No need to get in the fridge when my wife can reach into the cooler or being something from the stop while I'm fueling.

We have the 3791RD and access the fridge is out of the question when slides are closed. The bathroom and bed are accessible.

I have a 2013 Mountaineer 362. It depends on what you mean - "get to the fridge". I am around 5'10" and can just put my hip on the counter and swing my feet over, then I can open the fridge fine. If you are still fairly agile, maybe this would work on some units. Bathroom and ones side of bed is accessible too.

We used to shop for trailers looking for fridge access as well but honestly after 30yr of rving I think was accessed the fridge maybe 5 times when we weren't set up somewhere.

Never gave it a second thought when we bought the 3790RD, we have slept in the bedroom without putting out the slide twice while travelling. It's a pain but can be done.

our 2015 3611 RL allows full fridge, bathroom, and bed access with slides in. They are out of production now, but a few remain on dealers lots. JT.

Our 2017 3661RL allows us full access to the residential fridge, bathroom and bedroom with the slides in. This is a great feature that was one of the reasons we purchased this model.

Our previous trailer had access to the fridge with the slides closed, and yes, it was handy. Our new trailer does not, so we have to put the kitchen slide out. This is the same side as the access door. If there is room for the steps to go out, there is room to put the slide out. A bit of a nuisance, but it is something we can live with.
