It's normally on the same switch as the door side scare light.

If you have a remote, the remote will turn it off.

As mentioned, it should be hooked to the door side scare light, if that doesn't work try the street side scare light.

First you did not mention what year and model you have. It is easier to diagnose a problem if we know these. If the light was not on when you bought it, it is not a remote control problem unless you have a remote in a drawer and it has been bumped and turned on the scare lights. It is as others have said, tied into one of the large dome lights that are at the top front curbside or mid top of the drivers side. One of the switches have to be turned on but that should be visible by looking at the switches on the main switchboard inside the unit. They should be lit up if on or they will be in the on position one of the two.

The switches on older units like ours don't light up when on, but check the switch not the scare light. On an older rig the scare light could be burned out but if the switch is on the front light will still work.

It is the flood light on the outside of your rig, usually one on both sides. Our light switch inside is labelled 'DS FLOOD'. The outside light looks like this.

In the front storage area, where the batteries are located, do you have one these mounted on the back wall just right of center?

This is the "brains" for the remote control system. If you have one, disconnect the wire connected to the terminal "Light". As others have written, if the LED over the pin is turned on by the remote system, then it must be turned off by the remote system. There maybe an glitch on the remote "brain" which has turned the light on. Normally when they fail you can't turn things on, but who knows.

P.S. it would really help if you proofread your postings as I find it very difficult to understand what you are trying to say. For example, is the red light, in the rocker switch, illuminated? I could not determine the answer after reading all of the posts in the two topics running on this problem.

And that battery disconnect doesn't turn off the battery, it just turns off most of the stuff. john

Ok I disconnected the terminal light, that worked , but then the vanity and ds switch and ceiling fan, does not work. so I connected the terminal light wire back, led is off , but ds, and vanity light and ceiling fan does not work, push the program button, red light came on then flashed, still same results, but no led light, like i said have no remote, yes i checked the breakers

The "ds light" is 12V. It is on the same circuit as the LED over the pin box. What is the "vanity Light"?? Is that the light over the door? If so it is 12V on a different circuit. The fan switch is 120V and a different issue.

Sounds like you need a mobile repaiman to come help with the electrics in your Montana.

On Edit: You can also try disconnecting the power to the remote control brain. You say you don't have a remote, so loss of its function shouldn't affect you. The power comes in at the upper right of the "brain" to the ports marked "Power + -". Remember the "+" wire is hot and should terminated so it can't accidentally find a ground.
