powered vent lid stuck on

My 2006 3500RL has the lift mechanism motor on the kitchen roof vent stuck on. Anyone ever run into this problem? I have to pull the fuse to stop it.

Not sure about an 06 or new ones, but mine have an on/off switch on the housing. That could have gone bad.

I don't know for sure, but I would think the cover has either a torque switch or a limit switch to cut off the lift motor when the cover reaches the full open or full closed limits. My guess is that that switch has gone bad.

If it is a Fantastic Vent fan, call them. I had to call about mine once several years ago and they were very helpful.

Not sure if it is the same type problem, but my Fantastic fan had an issue where the cover powered up, but the fan would not come on. There is a small pop up switch on the hinge side of the top, that cuts off the power to the fan when the lid comes down. That little switch got stuck down. All I had to do was reach up throughthe blades (or down from the top) and manually punch the button up and down a few times to break it free of the corrosion or whatever was making it stick, and everything has been fone since.
