Need to rethread suburban water heater anode fitting

I need to rethread the anode fitting on my suburban water heater, SW12DEL. I know it takes part 232767 which says its 3/4”. I am looking at a NTP 3/4” tapered tap but I can’t find the thread count to buy the tap. I have seen both 12 and 14 thread counts on other posts/articles. Called number in my manual and they could only tell me 3/4”. When I look 3/4” NPT taps it only offers 14 thread count. Help please.

3/4” pipe taps will only be 14 thread. When you use it, only run it in far enough to clean up the threads, do not go too deep or you will not be able to get the new anode to tighten. Make sure you use Teflon tape on the anode threads so you protect the threads as well as get a good water tight seal.
