So far so good. It does open as far into the room as the standard hide a bed does so in a 2955 it shouldn't block the way to the door.

Glenn did you mean to say that it does not open as far as the standard hide a bed? In our 2955RL that is one thing that we did not like. When ever we used the hide a bed then we had to crawl over the bed to get out the door. That will be great if this new air bed doesnt.

It would be great if someone who owns this new bed could measure (with the bed open and inflated), from the side-wall to the foot of the bed. That will tell us how much space would be left to get around the end of the bed when open for our particular trailer. My current sofa-bed leaves no room to get around -- you have to crawl over it.

I also would be a very happy camper if there was a bed that when extended in the 2955, you would be able to walk out the door. Been thinking of some kind of futon but not to crazy about them.
Would appreciate any input and measurements.

Count me in! We love our 2955 but when my mom or our daughters come along that's the one downside. Measurements would be appreciated!

Glen:
Did you by chance get to measure the new air/bed sofa. Really would like to change are bed sofa in our 2955. Do not have to tell you the inconvenience of using it for overnight guest.
Thanks Jon

When we had our 2955, we ran into the same issue of the folded out hide a bed blocking access to the door. A way we found around it, was to turn the couch to face the dining table. We moved the 2 closest dining room chairs out of the way an opened the hide a bed. That left us about 18" beside the bed for access to the door. Not a perfect solution, but we didn't have company a lot and it worked. Oh,, by the way, we loved our 2955.

As the back of the sofa rolls forward and becomes part of the bed you should have room in the 2955. With the bed open, from the wall to the foot it is a total of 76 inches. The width is the same as the standard sofa. AND either as a sofa or a bed it is considerably more conmfortable than the old sofa bed.
Unlike the sofa bed, the air sofa, with the exception of the air mattress, is one piece making it quite the task of getting it in the rig but it can be done.
