Need help finding a campground in Northern Ca.

Hi Everyone,
Does anyone know of any good campgrounds around San Ramon or Oakland Ca? We are going there this September and will need a site for about a week. Our son lives there and we are planning on going out with the Monty. Thanks ahead of time for your help.

I can't think of one around Oakland but I'm sure one of the many CA members can help you out.

RV parks are scarce in the Bay Area - I used to live there. A quick check using MS Street & Trips found Anthony Chabot Campground (East Bay Reg Park District), 2950 Peralta Oaks Ct, Oakland, CA 94605-0381 Tel: (510) 562-2267.

Also, there are fairgrounds in Antioch and San Jose that allow RV parking when they're not having events. Here's info I have from "RVers Guide To Fairgrounds Camping" by Nick Russell, Gypsy Journal:

Antioch: Contra Costa County Fair RV Park - 29 full hookup RV sites, $20/night. Seven day limit. Located at 1201 W. 10th Street. (925) 757-4400.

San Jose: Santa Clara County Fairgrounds - Full hookup RV sites, $20/night, 14 day limit. Located at 344 Tully Road (at corner of Monterey Highway).

My parents stayed at the latter, but it was a long time (20 yrs?) ago.

Hope this helps.

There is a campground in Concord. Also several in Morgan Hill (south of San Jose). Further south there are several south of Gilroy. There are a couple on Bethel Island and one in Livermore. The one in Concord or the one in Livermore would be closest to San Ramon. We worked in that area for several years and did have trouble finding places. Check Trailer Life directory.
Happy trails......................
