Brinks Safe?? Mountaineer 319BHS

I was going over our new coach today and according to the brochure a Brinks Safe is supposed to a standard feature. Any idea where it is located on this unit??

In my 3400RL, the Brink's safe is located under the bed in the storage space of the main (upper) bedroom.

That's where the brochure says that it should be, but under our bed we have a flat board about 6 inches deep with out a cut out and it is screwed in as not to be removed, perhaps somebody forgot to install the safe??

Not a big deal. I really laugh at using the Brinks name for this. It is a non fireproof metal box with a key operation. The key looks like a typical file cabinet key. Bet there are hundreds out there. Go buy yourself a good fireproof, tamper proof safe and you will be far ahead.
Happy trails...........................

Which unit do you have? The safe is located in different places in the units, the 2003 3295 is in the floor next the the bathroom sink. The 2005 3400 is under the bed, and some have it in the forward closet.

Don't waste anymore time looking for it. I have a 2006 328rls and it was not in the unit when I got it. I called my dealer and I was told that Montana had discontinued installing the safe in the 2006 Mountainers...apparently its in the fine print..."Features,prices and specifications are subject to change without notice" Thank You...so don't always believe what they tell you...

In our 2004 297RKS Mountaineer, it is located under the bed...attached to the plywood board. As stated, just a plain metal box with a file cabinet key.

Ours is also located under the bed. Not a very safe safe, but better than nothing I guess.

I'll back up the others that have said forget about the Brink's safe. A small fire box would be much better.

Yep thats why all the theafs know where all the safes are at. the can come here and get all the info they need. there are plenty of great hiding places and dead spaces in your trailer, make a false door with a hidden magnetic cabinet door lock the kind that takes another maginet to release the catch. put a couple of fake screws to make it look as if they were screwed in. Tthen leave the one they give you when you perchase your trailer put a couple of fives and loose change that is your decoy or sacrafical money.
