3400RL Height and Length

The literature from Montana shows the height to be 12'11". Our unit has the front air-conditioner, which appears to be the highest point. Are we now higher than 12'11"?

I'm going to get on the roof and measure to make sure, but it is parked in the driveway now, and the front is very high to get close to level.

They show the length to be 37' 9". Is that the outside length, cap to ladder?

On my 3400RL the length is at 39'6" that is from kingpin to ladder, and the height is 13'1". I got the height from the shop when I brought it home the first day. This spring I am having the low-profile Dometic 15,000btu a/c added, shop says it will only add approx 2" onto my height. It depends on what type and brand of a/c you have on the front as to what the exact height currently is.

We have a Kingdome on ours and it makes the height 13' 8". We have to be careful with overpasses and go by the trucker atlas when planning our routes. It also makes it tricky going under trees or the canopies in gas stations. I can't remember the length, but it is in the 38 to 39 ft range.

Thanks for the replies. On my to-do list, I added "measure height".

I'm sure it's a good number to know.

Just a suggestion.....if you have something to project the beam to from a laser level, attach the level to the highest point on the trailer and measure the beam to the ground rather than trying to measure the Monty.

I believe the 2006 3400RL are a bit bigger that the 2005 3400RL. My 2005 measures at 37'1" by 12'9". I could be wrong.

I don't have a laser level so laid a long 2x4 across the AC and dropped a tape from 2x4 to the ground. Ours is 12'8" per the brochure. Actual measurement is 12'7".

I too noticed that the 2006 Montanas say 12'11" where the 2005 Montanas were 12'9" from the top of the AC (the highest point). We added a satellite dome on top and ours came to 13'4". We also watch all of the underpasses heights. We did the same thing, Ran a 2x4 out with a level and measured the height from ground to the bottom of the 2x4.

I think the 2004's were also listed at 12' 11" as were the later 2003 models. Ours is an early 2003 and lists at 12' 8". When they went to the flat floor upstairs they added three inches to the height. Those models have the taller basement storage than ours does, too.
