From first hand experience, you will loose the Tailgator for Dish right across the Canadian border. In Alaska the Dish antennas are 3 to 4 feet in diameter. You will not get any signal at all, with your Tailgator so enjoy the scenery! You can't believe how the Dish antennas are angled in Alaska, looks like they are pointing into the ground.

Thanks for prompt reply! Have been aware of angles using previous satellite or as wife calls it Divorce Dish. Won't waste time. Our Sirrus radio works pretty well and we're like a few generations ago sitting around listening to some shows, news & music.

Tom and Tammy,

You will find as you go farther north you will lose your Sirius radio. Works fine in the Anchorage area and south.

We lost Dish about Calgary. Sirius began intermittently just south of Whitehorse.

We have Dish King Pro Tailgater. We are currently in Jasper Alberta Canada. Well north of Calgary.
We still have reception.
The Dish Tailgater receives ONLY from the Western Arch satellites. They are fairly well up off the horizon when in the west.
IF you travel a lot in the north east it can be difficult to get a good line of sight to the western arc satellites. Many times they are in the tree line.
We went to Bar Harbor Maine, Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island Canada and could only receive a few higher # channels.
If you travel much in the north east get the
Satellite dish Winegard Pathway X2

Winegard Pathway X2 PA6002R Satellite TV Antenna and DISH Wally Receiver Bundle (Dual Arc, 2 TV Viewing) https://a.co/d/hwXFPJx

It can receive BOTH eastern and western arc Dish satellites.
Download the Winegard TV signal finder app. You can use it to see the satellites in the sky to help aim the dish (avoid trees etc.).
Western satellites: -110, -119, -129
Eastern satellites: -61, -72, -77

Daryles - I have same Dish Tailgater as you.

Do you know if the Winegard Pathway X2 is similarly powered thru the coax?...in other words my OEM splitters will stop the signal from running thru the OEM coax wiring. I have rigged up a coax pigtail under the slide-out to tie my Dish Tailgater to and by-pass the convenience center connections.

Off topic, I know, but I'm curious how that cell signal booster in your pic works for you

Mike&Deb:
Winegard Pathway X2:
I don't know about power to this model. Looking at it I'm not sure it has any moving parts in it like ours. My OEM connections dont work for dish. I run my cable through the window from the Wally to the Dish.
