Generator Purchase
We are considering purchasing a generator for our 3670 RL. I tried to use the search function to see if this had been discussed before, but had no luck. Do ya'll have any recommendations as to the brand or type of generator we should purchase?
Also, the purpose of the generator will be for use in tailgating at Alabama football games. Any tips on that subject would also be appreciated, as we have never taken our rig to the games before.

I can only speak to the generator that I have. Its a yahama EF3000iSEB.A good quality generator that is "quiet"will cost you some money. This one fits the bill. Its very quiet and dependable and it cost.
I can run every thing with this including the AC with not a problem.
In fact I hadn`t started it in probably 2 plus monthes or so(not recommended)and it fired right up without a glitch. Its electric start and sips the gas.I had it running at my storage place for maybe 4 or 5 hours and the fuel gauge hardly moved.
Its on the heavy side at 151 pounds. But it does have wheels which makes it easier to move around.
But no question about it the big selling factor on this unit is the sound. Its so quiet you can not believe it until you hear one running.
Honda-Kibor-Yahama all make a really nice generator-that your camping neighbors won`t mind hearing.

There have been several threads on generators.Depends on what you are going to use it for. We have the Kipor 3500ti a bit heavy at @132lbs but runs most everything. Sits near the tailgate of the truck, is as quiet as any of the others, perhaps a bit less expensive.Others have the Honda 2000's , smaller, lighter, easy to move around. Kipor also has a 2000 watt generator similar to the Honda 2000.Don't know if you want a generator to run your Tv and a beer cooler or the entire RV so have no reccomendation...

I still question the "two fuels" max rule, say in CA. I think we'll go with an LP for convenience and the fact will not have LP, diesel and gas onboard.

I just bought a Onan 3600 LP and installed it myself ,,,, works great and it goes along with you ,, and without using an extra fuel,,,, also quiet ,,,,, I bought it from the local Cummings dealer and got a real good price ,,,, compared to the RV places. ( Cummings recently bought out Onan ) Very Happy

With my Yahama.I had running my AC which is 15,000 btu.Tv was on.A couple of the lights-not 12 volt. And was running the vacumn cleaner all at the same time.I didn`t try the microwave, figured that might have been to much load. The yahama I have has the boost feature, which uses the battery for starting heavy loads.
The Honda 3000 is pretty close to the Yahama.but I don`t believe it has that boost feature.

Harleyrider is correct. The Yamaha 3000SEB gives an extra boost to kick in the air conditioner and it's what we chose to buy. It works great and gives you all the creature comforts of home. Ours has traveled in the bed of the truck for two years but we found it was easy to unload it while we're stationary for a few days. We cable it to the axles of the trailer for security.
I have only one important thing to say on this subject.....ROLL TIDE!!!! and welcome to the forum.
