I tried a plan like that but found the data wasn’t near enough to stream our tv’s.

I have also been using this for the last month or so. I also got the 5g mifi mobile hotspot. Not sure about the 5g wifi hotspot though. It has been abit flaky. Ive had to restart it a few times now. The bandwidth seems great. It does go between 5g and 4g. I am on the boundary of the 5g area, but it will soon be here. The hotspot is alot better than my phones hotspot, which is also a 5g phone.

What kind of down speeds are you getting on your 5G mifi or phone?

I just ran a test just now. The hotspot was on the 4g network and i got 78Mbps down and 1Mbps up. Considering this is on the weekend that is great for a weekend. I will test it on the 5g network when i can notice that im on that.

Don't fall for the ads for Muamo on Facebook. I did and can't make it work.

I just read a scientific type article on 5G. It seems the really fast 5G will never be available in places we camp. The signal will only travel 1500 yards and even then you will haft to be within 300 yards for the best signal. The carriers advertise 10 GBPs but that in idea lab conditions and real world will be a small fraction of that. Plus any thing will degrade the signal, trees, rain and even oxygen. A tower will only supply 12 to 15 users. We live 4 tenths of a million from the road so they would haft to put up a small tower on our property. I’m not going to be holding my breath.

The T Mobile plan appears to be the most data for the least money. I don’t need another monthly bill for something I’m not using. So, having the ability to do month to month during camping season and let it lapse when we are not is a benefit. We got home to the mountain in January and will start heading out in April. It will probably stay active through October. Many of the places we camp will not have any cell service. So, we will have to get by without then.
