Ford 2019 super duty ome Tpms
Has anyone had an issue with using ford ome Tpms system for a fifth wheeler ?
I’m I’m wondering if there is enough cable length/slack for the cable that runs from the bumper cable plug to the king pin area .
Im also thinking to run the trailer end of the cable from where the kingpin is thru to the forward storage compartment then down through the propane storage then along the frame .
Any better ideas or suggestions.
Much appreciated.

You will find the vast majority on here use TST tire pressure system. I am not familiar with Ford’s system. Is it hardwired all the way to the axle? Also, does the Ford TPMS do temperature and pressure? I personally think you need both. I am sure someone will chime in with more info, but the TST has been so successful that it has become the most recommended brand. Keystone now adds TST standard on new Montana’s.

Yes it’s hard wired to the axle where the receiver is then mounted .
A camera is also able to be plugged in from there ..
No it does not measure the tire temperature.
The tst system sounds goo too .
I just like the idea that tire info come up in my dash display.
Ahh what to do .

We had considered the ford tpms also in the beginning, but it is not cost effective and every ford dealership we talked to had never even heard of it much less installed one. In my opinion you are better off going wireless like most of us, and as mentioned it does not monitor temp, only pressure.

I looked at the Ford system for my 2019 F250 when I purchased the truck. I was hoping that it was a wireless system, but no. I decided to continue using my eezRV wireless system from my trailering days. Works well, reliably providing warning when necessary. I recommend wireless always. My unit does not require a repeater, although one is available.

The Ford system does monitor temperature. At least my 2022 does. Mine plugs into the 12 pin plug that’s in the bed. This connection also includes the camera and the yaw sensor for the pro trailer backup system. The TPMS portion of this system is only a short wire that locates the sensor in the front of the camper. It doesn’t go to the axle. I replaced a TST system with the Ford system. I would be happy with either but I like not having to have an extra monitor in the cab. I’ll probably use the TST for another trailer.

Hi Elee3, thanks for sharing the information.
I originally purchased the Camera/TPMS kit (HC3j-1A515-AB) when I purchased my 2017 f350 but never have used it because those trucks didnt come with a bed hookup only on the bumper for the kit.
My 22 does of course, and I was thinking about installing.
One note on Fords website says that the sensors dont work in Steel Cased Tires (Which Mine are) Sailun S637 ST 235/80/16
My Montana is a 2020 3721RL Legacy Edition, do you have the same tires or steel cased tires? If so I assume you haven't experienced any issues with them communicating etc.?
Do you happen to know the part number of the kit you installed? Just thinking the temp might be a newer thing, and I will want to check that out to see if mine has or need to upgrade.
Thanks,
Frank

Frank,
I am running Goodyear Endurance tires and don't have any issues with communication. They are steel belted, but I'm not sure about the side walls. When I get home, I'll get the part number of the TPMS sensors.
