US 64 in Tennessee

US 64 between Cleveland and Murphy along the Ocoee river. Towed a camper along that stretch about 30 years ago and wouldn't want to do it again unless road has been improved. Was beautiful drive but not enjoyable pulling a camper. Lot of 18 wheeler hogging center line and over hanging rocks. DW seems to think it is now 4 lane. Is she right?

Hi Paul,

No it the same 2 lane and a lot of tight place's. I have been over 64/74 with our rig's. Its slow 25, 35 , 45 mph highway, but take your time and you will make it just fine.

Thanks Charlie. As I thought. Didn't see how they could 4 lane that highway with out removing a mountain. As I remember it is better going east vs west. Going east the river is to your right. Going west over hanging rocks is to your right.
Thanks again.

your right. The only way I have travel 64/74 was west to east. I have been both ways on my motorcycle.

During my trucking years I ran through there many times pulling a 53 footer with no problems just pay attention to the driving instead of the scenery.
