Idea's on Sofa Sleeper
Has anyone out there purchased an air mattress for their Sofa/Sleeper Couch? Right now were using a 2" foam pad (Costco) to top the stock mattress. Military Exchange is having a sale on Aero-Beds and was wondering if that would be the way to go, don't want my granddaughters or guest to get a nose bleed from the height afterwards

John,
I think that's exactly what we will do. We're too early on our order for the air bed, and I think I like the styling of the sofa sleeper better anyway (camel back). We were looking at the inflatables and I think I'll try one. I think it would actually fold up in the bed if we get one that power deflates.

We did that too. The sofa bed would not be very comfy for adults - it's ok for kids though.
The bed blows up in a few minutes and can sleep adults nicely. I'd only want to use it sparingly.

We are trying the airbed approach now, but it is funny (at least to me) to see our 31 years old son walk around like the hunchback of Notre Dame in the morning after he sleeps over. This assures a short visit...
For other guests we use the airbed.

Does anyone know the weith of the new bed vs. the standard hide-a-bed sofa? I have been thinking about just upgrading the sofa to a better brand. I can always add more egg crate memory foam to the matress if its not soft enough.

They told us the new bed was the same. Standard queen size. We tried to put a 2" foam pad on ours but could not get it closed and have no place to store it. I don't think we could even have a 1" pad and leave it on.

I have a 2" foam pad on my sofa bed. I use it often throughout the summer months, not too bad... I leave the foam pad and all the sheets on the bed and fold it up with no problem. Funny how year to the next there is just enough of a change on something that what works for one, does not work for another... =)

For one...we're hoping we are almost done with kids camping with us. It was fun for the first 20 years, but we've had a taste of our freedom...
The other would be - I'm not sure how much abuse it would take by an frisky adult couple...

Silly Question I know but here goes. How do we get full sized furniture in through the tiny door? Does Keystone leave a window out until furniture is in or do they use Ready to Assemble furniture and assemble it on the inside OR, is there, in fact, enough room to squeeze through the door???
Inquiring minds want to know....
Thanks

It is a standard sleeper sofa size. You can purchase from your local mattress store. That is what we did I think about $100.00 big improvment

We got our OEM sleeper sofa out through the door when we replaced it with our reclining loveseat. It takes some clever moving and squeezing and twisting and turning but it does go through the door. So I suppose it will also go in the door. Just be sure you have plenty of help. Our loveseat was much easier to get through the door because the back will come off.

As I mentioned in a post under another topic...we have a rule for our Monty
Cocktails for six, Dinner for four, Sleeps two....works for us! Now we do not have to worry about how comfortable the sofa sleeper is. We are more concerned about the comfort of the sofa for sitting and lounging.

Joyce, I like your rule. We like our sofa for sitting and Ed naps there often. Works just fine for us and we won't replace until it wears out. Ed hated the sofa in our previous 5ers and so this was a major item to check when we purchased the Monty.
Happy trails.....................

We dumped the old mattress (07) and went to our local mattress factory where they made one to custom fit the sofa bed and the cost was about the same as the mattress pad at Costco. So far we have been satisfied with it and no one has complained of discomfort.
