Prices when ordering a new unit
Those of you who have ordered a new Montana rather than buying off the lot. Can you expect the same or nearly the same discount as buying in-stock units? A google search typically shows many new Montanas offered at $20K - $25K or more off supposedly MSRP for units in stock. Typical example would be something listed as $91,500 MSRP offered for $66,300 at the dealer lot. Can you custom order one for the same high $60s price tag? Or do you pay a premium for that?

Mine was the same price with the discount as if I had bought it off the lot. That was in 2006, though. Figure roughly 30% off of MSRP.

just my opinion but in my experience you can get a better price by ordering vs one off the lot. the dealer has more invested in a unit on the lot. However you negotiating skill make the difference.

I agree with Rich totally, we ordered our last two units and averaged 25-30% off MSRP including the add-on options. Non OEM options can be negotiated as well since they can be made part of the purchase.

We just purchased a 2015 3910FB as a repeat buyer at a dealership. We have been told order units do not get the same level of attention during production as units that have to be sold. True or false, don't really know. Told the dealer exactly what we wanted, he brought in a unit from another dealer the next day. Price for that unit was the same as if we went ahead and ordered from him. Same Same. Negotiated 25 percent off the price which was comparable to what I found during my web research. Wanted top wholesale for our 2010, didn't get what I wanted, and took what they offered. Following week, saw our old rig for sale on site at $3000. more than what we got which told me we got more than a fair deal. Unit prices are a variable of many factors to include greed, sales volume, cash flow issues, individual dealer overhead costs, sales pressure on salesmen, to name a few. For this purchase, the price for the identical unit was the same whether special order or off the lot. My experience over the years for RVs and vehicles is that if you tell the dealer what you want he will find one.

I am not a multiple unit buyer like many here, but if memory serves me correctly(and it may well be failing), MSRP on our unit as shown at the RV show was $108,000.00 and I thought that was ridiculous. We ordered exactly what we wanted and left little out. We came in 46%-47% under that at the sale table. I have nothing to compare that to at other dealers. We thought the price offered was one we could not pass up. Later, when it seemed we might no get our unit in time for a planned trip, I looked at other dealers for a stock unit. I could not find a unit as well equipped as ours for any where near what our sales price was. Dealers I checked were the big guys like Lakeshore, Tiara and American(I think). All were at least $10,000.00 over what we had signed on. I felt much better about our purchase and waited it out for delivery. That was in April 2012 and I continue to believe we got a stellar deal. Could be because it was a show deal, or because we ordered, I don't know. I'm sure there are certain times that it is better to buy off the lot also, but then the units that are left are not likely the "choice" units. We chose to order to get exactly the unit we wanted and not settle for what was available. The main option for us was dual pane windows. You just don't see many on the lots with them.

Do I remember reading that from order to delivery was something like 6-8 weeks?
I am thinking I will wait for the final 2015 floor plans to be shown and maybe order late this year to get it in time for the new season. It would seem that with 5 floor plans showing as "stock only" there would be more than just the one new FL plan coming up.

$108K for a 2013 3402 regardless of options seems unrealistically high to me. You cannot always go by what the dealer says is the MRSP, unless they show you the delivery invoice which they will not.

I have done a lot of searching lately of the various floor plans and availability of them at numerous dealers nationwide just to get ideas about pricing. Most all 2014 models of a number of different floor plans have listed MSRPs of about $88,000 to $94,000. Most are listed in the low 90s. And the majority of those have an "our price" of something in the mid to upper $60K range. Some will show prices in the 60s but with a line thru it and "make offer" below it. And occasionally one will show up in the mid to upper $50K "our price" range. Quite a variation. All new units.
Just trying to educate myself for when the time comes.

Mt company Harrell's Precision is a TrailIr dealer. I wonted one of their hitches so I called them and ask for dealer pricing. They gave it to me saved me 40% off of retail. My point is if you won't a discount you haft to ask for it.

As I said, I thought it ridiculous as well. I tend to believe MSRP's would be inflated at a show any how. However, MSRP had nothing to do with feeling we got a good deal. As Rich puts it, we got a lot of bang for our buck we thought.

My experience is 30% is always offered out the gate. 42% is my number! after seeing build sheet and comparing MSRPs. While ordering might give you an excellent price, there is something to be said about dealers wanting an item off their lot!

If you are interested I would be happy to share my recent purchase experience of our 2014 3900FB Montana. Trust me im one of those people that spends hours and hours researching looking for the best deals on anything I buy and the recent purchase of our RV was no different. We live in California and our decision came down to two different dealers. Lakeshore RV in MI or RV Outlet.com on line. We went with RV-Outlet saving more on shipping and took delivery at our local camping world. In short we ordered our Montana with EVERY OPTION available including dual pane windows, generator, dual A/C, leather etc. etc. We paid $65000.00 for the coach and $3400.00 for shipping. I believe the MSRP was north of $109,000.00 The Big Sky package would have been another $7000.00 but I just couldn't get past the paint schemes. RV-Outlet.com deals in many different brands and is affiliated with CW so delivery is a piece of cake. If your interested I would be happy to send you a copy of my order sheet and price breakdown to give you a better idea of the deal we received. Just shoot me your e-mail and I will send you the info in attachments.

Our '14 3150RL is the normal equipped unit, Dual air, leather, 6 pt level, Mor/ryde hitch. Dealer installed Splendede w/d, Mor/ryde X factor. Was a unit that was built, not a sold unit that was in the pool @ the factory.
Depending on which list price sheet you use, was about 41% off list. Out the door @ $48,331. I went to Indiana to purchase and hauled it back to Missouri, so I had a bit of expense there, but turned it into a trip to Michigan to see friends.
Replaced the Marathons when we got back home, after selling the Marathon's the net on the Duravis R250's was about $600.

Vibetech1 is pretty spot on my 2015 3735MK Loaded(slide toppers too) except dual pane and full body paint was MSRP 91K... MY price was 70K WITH a Lifetime Warranty thrown in for good measure from the Dealer ALOT of bang for the buck, Similar equipped SOB's were a few K more than that and that is why I bought another Montana
