We are looking for a place to stay while visiting our son in Aurora, Illinois.

The Jellystone Park Chicago RV Park which is actually 58 miles from Chicago wants $56.00 per night this coming weekend for a 30 amp, water and electric only, back in!!!

Apparently, they don't honor any of the discount cards!!

You are to close to Chicago. When you leave head south and give us a call it is somewhat cheaper down state.

Grant, We stayed at Leisure Lakes, just sought of Chitown near Joliet. It may actually be in Rock Falls. There is also a casino called Empress that has a CG, W & E only though. A lot to see and do in Chicago, Wrigley Field and Navy Pier were high on our lists. Good Luck....

I always thought Jellystone were priced crazy. One close to me (in middle of nowhere) charges a already high price but also $5 per night per person over 2. If you got 3 kids you site could be $60 per night. I'll never stay in a jellystone.

I think it's all about GREED, and making money.
I went to Silverwood Lake hear in Calif, now this is a State park and the biggest rv that will fit comfortably is not longer than 26 feet long and , get this full hook ups @ 60.00 per night, and you have to go through that ticket tron like company who also charges you for their service.

Stayed in a Jellystone once. Never again. Way over priced, way underwhelming. We find the same thing with KOA's. Seems any franchised RV park charges more, but doesn't provide more.

Grant, there is a campground in Sycamore, IL which would be closer to Aurora (www.sycamorervresort.com). Our daughter lives in Glen Ellyn and we checked this campground out if we ever need to stay somewhere other than her driveway. The campground in Joliet would be the closest to Aurora ( www.leisurelakeresort.com) Good luck! See you in Q!

Agree fully about KOA and Jellystone. We've found a couple of KOA's that are reasonable (more or less) and not bad parks but by and large they pack you in and stick it to you on the price.

However, to be near two of our children and two of our granddaughters for the winter holidays we decided to stay at a KOA that I would call "OK" but nothing special. AFTER we made our reservation they became a Jellystone Park. No change in price, though. The monthly rate is actually decent but still not cheap. We arrived a couple of days ago. The power is excellent. The water pressure and quality are excellent. The water connection is in a hole in the ground with a cover. Easy to connect my heat taped hose to. And we filled a couple of trash bags with leaves and dropped them in the hole for additional insulation. We're in a pullthru long enough for our rig, our truck, and our car, and maybe one visiting car. And our neighbors, while not a long ways a way, are not right on top of us.

Again, we generally avoid KOA and Jellystone but this one is ok. The best part is we no longer have to drive clear across Kansas City and its traffic to reach our children and grandchildren. And the 100 lb. propane bottle cost is $30 less than what we paid in the park we stayed in last year at this time.
