3400RL

Hello everybody, I've got the bug. Am seriously contemplating the purchase of a montana model 3400RL. Haven't be able to find any interior photos of one. Doed anyone have interior photos, I really like the floor plan in the brochure. Also would like to hear from Montana owners on which dealer you dealt with, were they easy to deal with and did you get a good deal. Have heard that the mark up on Montanas is roughly 30% and there is a lot of negotiating room on the price. What ever the msrp is start negotiating your price 30% lower then that. Has anybody tried this and what were your results? Hope everyone is having a nice day. Kurt

I am also interested in the answer to this as we also are looking to purchase a 3400RL. We auction our house on 10/29 and barring no problems should go to closing 30 to 45 days later and we will be homeless. We have a 2005 Outback Sydney that we have spent 4 nights in that is up for sale and hope it sells. If not we have to deal with dealer that will let us trade.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Betty

I have interior pictures of the 2005 3400 but the 2006 has several changes. I got mine off of a dealers web site. You might try that. If that doesn't work, email your email address so I can enclose the pictures to you.
Happy trails..........................

We just took ownership of a 2006 3400RL 2 week ago.
The pic's in the 2005 brochure of the bedroom (near the back) is very close to the bedroom we have, as far as the living room/ kitchen area the pic near the front of the brochure is close less the kitchen island. If you would like I can try to take a few pic's of ours but will take me a couple of day to get to it....
As far as dealer, we dealt with Alpine RV in Morgan Hill, CA and got a pretty good price and where fair as trade in price on our deal. I can give you there phone # and the name of the saleman I dealt with if you would like ?
Got a a few item to fix/repair after our shake down trip but we both love the Monty.

Where are you? We bought ours from Alpine also because we were in Morgan Hill at the time. We are back in Hemet now since we retired.
Happy trails....................

Parrothead,
I live in the Central Valley in the town of Ceres just south of Modesto and work in Santa Clara just to the backside of San Jose Airport. Know of Hemet my Father in Law lives there and we visit 1 or 2 time a year. (he's in the retirement housing group by the golf course and the super wal-mart.)
LOL small world !!
The name's Kim by the way.

Okay I found the pictures on Alpine's web site. They are really the 2005 listed under the 2006 3400. They are the same pictures I copied last year. Go to alpinerv.com click on New, then click on Fifthwheels and scroll down the page until you come to Montana 3400 (quite aways down the page), click on the photo and it will bring up several photos of inside and outside. You could also come to the rally in Reno in October and see some first hand.
Happy trails.................

I know exactly where you are. I was working for a school district in San Jose but we still had our stick home in Hemet (my mother, 1 daughter and grandchildren live here). So we lived in the Monty in Morgan Hill and drove back and forth many, many times. I have worked for hundreds of school districts because I was consulting and we know every inch of California. Hope we can get together some day. Try to make the rallies if you can. The Western Region one is on Memorial Day weekend at Mt. Shasta. We had a really good time this past May and met some wonderful people.
Happy trails..................

Parrothead,
Will have to see what happens about the rallies (got to keep work'n YUK, rather be out in the Monty) but might catch you in Hemet on a visit to the in laws, will keep in touch...

I sent you an email with some pictures. We really like our 3400. I don't think you can go wrong with this model. It is the number seller of the Montanas.
Happy trails.....................

Kelpykirk, welcome to the forum. You have quite a dilemma there. Those are both gorgeous models and it would be tough to choose between them. Vicki's favorite among the new models is the 3400. Mine is the 3500. Vicki thinks the 3400 has more interior storage while I like that room in the back on the 3500. But either would be a good choice in my opinion. Good luck and let us know the decision.

We have a 2005 3400RL and like it a lot. I highly recommend going in one and checking it out. That's how we ended up buying ours (from Arlington RV in RI). We were at a Boston RV show and walked into the rig. I was sure I would never buy anything that big but the bug bit us big time and here we are a year later, lovin' it.
