I love rving!

Got away this weekend in the rv. Had a problem with the slide which was corrected without major problem....replacing the slide bolt. Was able to see the mechanical workings and will be able to fix it myself if it ever happens again. Beautiful weather and relaxing with a book and a glass of wine. Thank you Lord for the great outdoors and getting away!

Oscar,

I second your feelings about RVing! Hard to imagine a better lifestyle. Sorry you had the infamous 'bolt' problem. But as you said it is a relatively easy fix.

I like you callsign. How did you luck out and get such a call? I cannot believe it would be a vanity call.

Glad you had a great time. Just keep a spare bolt with you.

Glad you had a great time and sorry to hear about the bolt problem. It was cold here in KY this past weekend and looking at the weather radar on the pc it looked like it stretched down your way. I bet ya had the furnace on didn’t ya?

We see rv'ing as a tool that allows us to live the lifesyle we have chosen at this stage of our life. It allows us the freedom to control where, when at at what pace we travel. In our younger days it was the most cost effective and family oriented way to vacation/travel. It certainy is not cheap. we have 100K in up front cost involved in the equipment we now have before we moved a foot. we could spend 1K a month for 100 Months(8.33 years) before we spent the up front cost.... but at the cost of giving up the freedom we enjoy RV'ing.

It's a 1/4 by 20 bolt that shears and prevent the slide from opening even causing it to rack, there is a topic somewhere in this forum,
if you look under the slide you will see a square tubing going to a round shaft with a gear on it thats the bolt.
if you can change it out with a new one this length 1- 1/2" long make sure it has a sholder on it, you dont want one with thred all the way up to the head.
