Here are my questions:

I see on the bolt that there is a knurled end that would keep the bolt from spinning. Based on that I am guessing I will have to completely remove the bolt to rotate it?

Any pointers/short cuts that will speed the process up?

Thanks in advance, Dan
If you are going to change everything anyway, and you just want to get some grease in there to hold you over, try taking the weight off and greasing, it should work unless the bolt is clogged up. If you want to try to turn the wet bolt, drive it out using an expendable nut far enough that the knurled part is out of the plate or hanger. Messing up the knurled part or opening up the plate or hanger will let them turn after reinstalling. Remember that the shackle plates on the equalizer end will be rotated up at around 10 o’clock position when loaded and is probably more in the 7 or eight o’clock position when you are installing the bolts, changing position of the cross hole in the wet bolt.

The wet bolt I had an issue with was clogged. Had to remove it and clean out the holes. Takes grease fine now

1wayhighway, before removing the bolt, unscrew the zirk and try and push grease through the zirk. If it wont go then use a piece of wire or paperclip to clean it out. If that works then screw the zirk back on and try to add grease again. If this does not work, then you can remove the bolt and try turning it.

The bolt will have to be pressed out - Or pounded out without damaging the threads.
I'm installing independent suspension and disc brakes in June for this exact reason. I'm tired of fixing wet bolts. I've had 2 break in half and could have lost a spring if it would have fell out.
You can also change the zerk fitting to help get grease in. Sometimes they get clogged up with road grime.
We have an appointment to have the independent suspension and disk brake installation at MORryde in Aug. I have a new wet bolt kit still in the original packaging that I was going to install but realized that my biggest problems were the hanger perches breaking off (has happened twice) as well as bending and broken or flattened springs. (happened twice as well). Plus disk breaks on the trailer need no explanation.
