Awning tear

We had the awning out and went to town. Upon return the awning had a year about 20" long. Is there a way to repair it with a special tape or am I in for a full fabric replacement?

I used this on our previous trailer and had good results. It should give you plenty of time to arrange for a replacement, maybe even at Quartzsite next year.
