Question about Mud Flaps

I've been searching the internet, looking for a wide mud flap that would go completely across the back of a dual-wheel Silverado.
I found one that goes into the hitch receiver under the bumper, but it looks "wrong" in appearance to me.
Is there an alternative or a way to make a mud flap to go clear across the back of our truck to keep debris, mud, etc from directly hitting the front of a trailer?
Thanks for any information on this. My search on MOC found no hits.
Larry

Larry I have the ones that just go behind the wheels seems like that is all you would need. I have not had any trouble with stuff hitting the front of mine. JMHO

I have used the dura flaps on a chevy and dodge duallys. Both have held up real good. Have looked at the ones that cover all the back and don't like how they look installed.

I've had several duallies with just plain ole mudflaps behind the duals ... not had any issue with chipping up the front of the fiver. I just went to the local truck supply stores and got generic mudflaps 20" wide by 18" tall and bolted them on to what was solid and handy. One thing that is important IMHO is anti-sails for your flaps ... several manufacturers sell them or you can make your own like I did. Without them, the wind while driving effectively shortens the flap by trying to blow it straight back ... thus chipped up fiver.

We had Ford dealer put his stock flaps on our dually. Not all the way across, just behind the wheels. They honestly work great so far.

I have heard that the mud flaps will get run over and riped off the truck if you back the truck up and hit one of those cement wheel bumbers in parking lots. I do like the idea ot the flap hanging from chain brackets, but I have issues with the spare tire getting in the way or if I have to change the tire.

Larry, I know you were asking about full width mud flaps and I can't help you there, however, I have had the single, behind the wheel flaps for the four years I have been fulltiming and I have not noticed any damages to front of my Monty. Good luck in your search....

Larry, go to www.mudflaps.com . Look for the one called the Rock Tamer, its made by Enkay. It adjust for hieght and fits in your 2" receiver. The flap doesnt go all the way across your rear bumper but it does cover most of it. I have two friends that have them and they like the way they work , and when you arent using it you can simply remove it. Good Luck ..Scott

Spoke with Hobobob (my husband, Bob) and he said ours that we purchased from a friend, is called "Rock Solid". When the original owner bought it, he had it custom built to extend 6" on both sides.

Since putting it on, we have not had any damage/scars to our home (I mean trailer). Wish we could have had something like that to protect the rear end of our home (trailer) when we got rear-ended in October!!! That is another story!!!

BTW... we have SRW.

It has been through many car washes as is. In fact, I do not believe we have taken off since putting on, unless pulling BBQ trailer.

I'm with exav8tr I've ran single mud flaps on all 4 of my duallys and have never had any problem with rock or debris hitting the trailer,
I've towed boats with no problems. With the single flaps, their permanent and look nice, not like the ones that extend all the way across!

We went in to a Cooper's Trucks and Accessories and ordered ours. They are a hard plastic and have held up really well. I don’t have a good picture of them but they really look good on there and they cover both tires.
