Short Time Away

Beginning May 4th we will not have access to the MOC for about 12 days. Wednesday nite we will board a train in Sacramento CA for Seattle WA. We will spend a day in Seattle and then on Saturday, we will board a cruise ship headed for Alaska. We are going with an RV group so we should met some great folks. You have to do the inside passage this way and then next year we will take the Monty to Alaska. I will miss the MOC but I expect to be having such a grand time, I won't know it. We had booked a balcony cabin and they called us the first of the week to ask if we wanted to upgrade to a suite for less than 1/2 the price as normal. So we said Yes!

Always wanted to do the inside passage in a smaller vessel rather than one of the big floating hotels. The cost is out of sight. Have flown to Alaska many times and visited many of the SE Alaska small towns. I see your signature refers going to Alaska. It is a great experience. ENJOY !!!!

we went on the inside passage trip last August. We agreed with what others have told us, IT is a MUST in you lifetime. Have fun. What cruise line are you on? Hope you like it as much as we did.

Ed & Sue,

You're going to love the Inside Passage Trip and may not want to return. We hope you do though because we're looking forward to meeting you in few weeks at the campout. I assume you'll be coming through here on Amtrack and if it's running a little behind schedule there may be enough light to enjoy the early morning views up the Sacramento River Canyon.

What a great trip and a super upgrade! I was wondering when you guys were going to Alaska as you referred to it in your signature. Have a wonderful time! We're driving up from Nebraska starting July 1st. Anyone else driving up? Judy

Have a great time!!! An Alaskan cruise is on my "wish" list, and we are considering a trip to Alaska with Monty next year along with some other Monty owners. Sounds like a great adventure! Enjoy

Congratulations! I write because we left on a similar cruise on the exact same date "May 4" in 2000. We had beautiful weather throughout the trip. The people in Alaska could not believe it. I hope you may experience the same. Also, we were the first ship of the season to call in many of the ports. That meant we were very welcome and got a great welcoming committee at the docks.

We sat at table with two lovely couples, one living then in Honolulu and the other residents of Adelaide, South Australia. As a result of that cruise, we spent Christmas 2000 (12 days) in the home of our new friends in Adelaide. After Christmas we drove a rental car to Sidney taking four days and staying in four different towns on the way. We spent New Year's eve "on the Rocks" next to Sidney Harbour. Wow! All from a cruise to Alaska.

We went on the "RV advertised" cruise out of Galveston just a month ago. 12 days in the Caribbean. Another wonderful trip.

Have a good time.
