3123 weight difference

A friend and i both have 2023 3123 Legacys. I bought mine in Jan. He purchased his more recently. Only difference is, his has a factory generator installed. The dry weight on my sticker says 12,550 lbs. His is 11,980 lbs w/generator. Does the factory weigh rigs? And why the difference?

The vehicle certification label has the official weights (GVWR).

GVWR Certification on the label - yes. I'm skeptical of Montana weighing every trailer for empty weight though. Could be wrong. Good question to ask at the plant tour during the fall rally.

The GVWR is the same on both. The UVW is the difference.

Unladen vehicle weight. Also known as “empty weight”

they weigh them at the factory if I remember correctly.

The difference could be the amount of sawdust left in during manufactoring
