I have a couple of them from Harbor freight , not expensive ,and come with a certification of accuracy, but it also says to recalibrate every six months for continued accuracy. So anyone that has a torque wrench ,and has been using it , you are just hoping at some point that its fairly accurate with out having it calibrated .
Do I care if it off a few lbs., no. If I was torquing down head bolts or something like that ,then yes I would want a good calibrated torque wrench . For wheels not too concerned . Been using the same torque wrench for years . What I have noticed is once I have torqued them , and go back to retorque to just check them, I have very seldom ever seen the lug nut move before it clicks. I just have to assume the lug bolts are staying put at that point, not having a recalibrated torque wrench.
