Still making our way to Alaska but have to stay in Dayton Nv. For a couple more days. Donner pass is requiring chains from Trukee west. Dayton RV park by Carson City however is a good place to wait out the storm. Next stop Petaluma Elk RV park.

Just a helpful word of advice as you get into Northern Alberta, NW British Columbia and finally the Yukon. You are on the very front edge of the tourist season, last year this time many of the potential campgrounds that we planned to stay at were not open yet. We would call ahead if we need to stop over. Indeed we saw many places to just pull off, but you can only do that a couple of times. After Toad River most of the CG in the Destruction Bay area were still locked down, Muncho Lake was solid ice. Have fun, everyday for us was a new adventure. If I can answer any questions for you PM me.

Was just re-reading the history of the Donner party tragedy. We really are in no hurry to go thru the pass until the weather is clear. Anxious to see the area though.

Mark and Connie, we live in central Alberta and have made the Yukon/Alaska trip 4 times. First was in 1972, 1989, 1996 and then 2008.
One of the greatest trips during the mid summer months and enjoy the Land Of The Midnight Sun!! If your travelling through Edmonton, Alberta give us a call or stop in; we live on a farm, have lots of parking space with 30 or 50 amp power!
