Awnings

Help... we have a 3400 and the awning stops at the edge of the door. When we got our first rain, it soaked the steps and blew rain into the trailer (no protection between the awning and the slideout). Does anybody have any suggestions for a fix? This seems to be the only problem for an otherwise perfect trailer.

Welcome to the forum!!

Our 2004 3295RK is the same way, figure they can only pack so much into 37 foot!!, awning comes as close to the slide as possible. SIGH

Our solution, simply close the door.

We rarely use the awning anyway, so most rain storms we get there is no protection.

Happy camping

We have the same thing going on but....... we close our awning at the first sign of rain.

We don't leave it open at night either as we have previously ended up at 2am outside in our nightclothes trying to close the awning because one of those sneaky winds has developed.

I don't know about blowing rain but the service manager at our dealer suggested putting an inflatable beach ball under the edge of the slide awning cover nearest the door to send the rain from the slide away from the door.

We haven't tried this yet since it never seems to rain while we are out.

Thank you, we like the beach ball idea for the slide awning. It's just so nice to sit outside under the awning and enjoy the afternoon summer rains in the pines.
