Another sign of the times ...

When I see this happening today, it makes me wonder about the chances for the new Redwood line. Have a look at http://www.carriageinc.com/

What a shame to see a great camper manufacturer go out.

Knew this was around the corner prior to the Fall Rally. At the time, I posted that Redwood wasn't doing very well, but was flamed for posting... As it happens, as of June 30, 2011, only about 50 Redwoods had been registered in the 48 continental United States' DMV offices. Oh well...

There's 2 of the 50 in the RV Resort I'm currently in. A 5 slider and a regular floorplan model.

According to some new reports, Redwood sales have increased approximately 50% since just before October and that they increased their labor force, at the time in the low hundreds, by 20% in their approximate 105,000 sq ft plant. Also, they introduced a flat rate delivery fee of $400 to their dealers along with other dealer incentives to promote their brand. Contradictory information in my opinion. Perhaps because it's only been about a year since they started rolling out their 5ers (09/24/2010, just a week after Thor purchased Heartland RV), they needed some time to pique the interests of consumers. I'm not here to bash any manufacturer - in fact, I am hoping that all manufacturers do well which would be a commentary on our economy. It just so happens that the information I had at the time that only about 50 units had been registered was from a trusted source.

The redwoods look really good but we thought over priced. We have never seen on on the road or in a campground.
