Hey OZZ....

How bout some air horns buddy? I see this truck just about every day. He works just across the street from the wife's employer. I spoke with him yesterday....he's a retired railroad engineer, then worked for a railroad salvage company. He said he has a brass horn off a paddlewheel riverboat that was around 3 feet long, solid brass. Said it has a very deep tone, that will make your innards shake.

If he ever puts those horns in, he won't be my buddy. Or else I'll have to start wearing plastic pants for what will be scared outta me.

That's a real serious setup. Besides the ones in the truck bed, did you notice the horn array on his headache rack? I'm surprised he still has windows.

If that dude loves the railroad so much, I wish he had installed a small air compressor that would blow air through those square wooden train whistles you find at railroad museums. That would be more tolerable and I wouldn't have to wear the plastic.

Art, those horns are all functional, plus two more in front of the grill. He blew at me one day when I slowed to turn. Oops, before I knew it, I signaled to him he was number one. Seems he might have heard too many loud horns, if you catch my drift.....

I would give just about anything to have a set of horns like that.
I did hear some "rumors" that if a CHP hears you blow them he can site the person a ticket for excessive noise, I dont know if that is on the up and up but if it is California has some weard laws if true, but I dont want to test it either. but they will deffinatly get your attention when the are blown.

Ha! I would love to have a train horn, a real one like those. Nathan is the brand I have been looking at. I'm close, but haven't slipped off the edge enough to go that route.
I just bought a couple of Grover 'Stutter horns' Just needed one, to compliment the one on my truck now. John Kohl has shown interest in the extra one I will have. If he passes, I will post it for sale once I figure how much I want for it.
I have my 160 DB 3 horn set; train horns, a Grover 'stutter horn' and the Beep-Beep roadrunner horn, also the stock very loud truck horn.
This guy has the real deal...

Jim, you need to get out to more rv parks. After awhile you never want to hear another train horn. Ever. It must be a prerequisite before one is allowed to build an rv park.

Ha, I know, Sue and I used to joke about that. Go to a new town, just follow the rail line for the RV parks.

You are so correct.... I am a Locomotive Engineer in Canada and if you're ever staying in the beautiful Lake Louise CG I want to apologize now for disturbing you. We run right past the CG where there is a crossing that is barricaded from using... But we still must whistle the crossing by law... Sorry folks....
