Hello
Hello, new member here. My wife and I are looking at buying the 2011 Montana 3580 model with the island kitchen. Just hoping to get some opinions on users that have this model. This will likely be our last trailer, so we want to make the right decision.
Any comments welcome..

Dui, think that's a great idea, Montana is the way to go. We have an island kitchen, the only way to fly. Ours is a 3455SA same idea.....

Island kitchen here in our 3455 plus also had in our previous 3400 and the DW wouldn't consider anything else. We also are on our 3rd Montana and have been very pleased with each of them.

Thanks for the vote of confidence...we actually pulled the trigger last night. Our order is in and we should see it by Christmas! We did not go with the gooseneck hitch like our sunny brook because Keystone would not warranty the frame. We are going with the B&w hitch. It seems a lot of the forum members like this hitch...so we went with it. Hope we made the right decision.
Options include : MorRyde, fireplace, double fridge, central vac, king bed,
Does anyone know if they come with 14k axles and are the marathon tires ok?

DUI, I believe the axles are 7000lbs each and the Marathon Tires, made in China, are junk. Think seriously about replacing them soom beofre you have a blowout from tread seperation. Check elsewhere on forum for tire problems.

Congratulations!
We don’t have the island but almost have one. Our counters are shaped into a peninsula with it attached at the back and we really like it a lot.
Hope you enjoy it and get many years of service from it.

Welcome to the forum! Lots of good folks here with vast experience with the "Monty". We love our rig. +1 on the Marathon tires. I'm about to pull mine off and go with the Goodyear 614's. Too many occurrences of tread separation reported by reliable Montana owners to be a isolated issue. I'm just not willing to risk DW, me and our $50k+ RV.

Is it true that they are shipping the new 2011s with marathons from USA?
Would it be possible to ask for better tires from the factory? Ie. And pay for the difference?

It would be nice if Keystone would do additions / changes at the customers request while the unit is being assembled but that would put it in the category of a custom/semi-custom coach and the Keystone manufacturing process is not geared for that. My suggestion is that if you want additions/mods to your rig and are not going to do them yourself, that you coordinate with your dealer and work the cost into your final bill. Remember, these are production units.

Did anyone upgrade the stove to the one like they use on the Alpine?...the one where there are no holes on the gas top...contains spills.

Just found out keystone will not put in the 614's....kind of disappointed. Will probably put the marathons on sale when the trailer comes in and buy the 614's. Thoughts?

I would do that in a heartbeat. I will never run a trailer with Marathons on it again. I just got the damage repaired from my Chinese road bombs.

Dui,
I'm going to put my takeoff Marathons for sale on CraigsList. Whatever I get for them would be better than putting them in the landfill. BTW, I've settled on Bridgestone Duravis tires. The Goodyear 614's were going to cost me $1370 out the door while the Duravis will cost $860 out the door. The money I saved can be put towards mods!

Excellent news. I have heard good things of the Bridgestone Duravis as well. What price will you list the Marathons? The price for G614 in Canada is anywhere from 270 to 350. Have fun with mods...I see alot of great mods on this forum. I want to get started on them as soon as I get mine...!

Dui,
Before you get rid of the Marathons on the new rig I would look to see where they were manufactured. It should be clearly marked on the sidewall. Goodyear was suppose to cease production in China and start manufacturing the Marathons in the USA again. Just my 2 cents worth.
