Since I wouldn't be able to access the 20 amp outlets after the new washer and dryer are installed I decided to relocate them to the stairway wall. This method kept me from having to remove the wires from the outlets and reroute the wires and having to reinstall the wires. I merely measured and cut new holes in the stairway wall opposite the OEM outlet positions. Then loosened the screws, slid the outlets out through the new holes and twisted them around to fit. The outlets have drywall clamps and I just needed to tighten the screws and they locked back in place in the new holes. Eventually I will find a nice piece of 1/8 inch Luan plywood and cover the OEM holes. Here is a link to the slide show
