may have a contract on our house UPDATE!!
After 2 long years..........I think we may have a contract on our house tomorrow. The buyer's realtor said they are writing a contract and making an offer tomorrow, which is Saturday! This has been very stressful doing the "house beautiful" thing every day!
We are going full time until we get tired of it. Don't plan on buying another house for awhile.
This next two weeks should be fun, getting rid of furniture and etc. Have already cleaned out a lot of it. Donated much of it. Kept enough in the house to make it show nice.

Dusty, I know the process is a trying one. I hope the offer fits your bill. I had several "low-ball" offers for ours until I got a live one. I jumped on it....Good luck and hope to see you on the road soon.....

Great news Dusty. I know you guys can't wait. We are putting out house up for sale April 1 and hope to be full timing by Aug. 1. There are very few homes for sale in my neighborhood. I expect to have a contract in two weeks. My home is about $100,000 over improved for a home thats will sell for about $215,000. I will order a 09 Dodge 3500 sometime in Dec - Feb. I will wait on the best deal and incentives. I will order a 2010 Big Sky 340 in Feb.
Good luck with everything.

Thanks all. Good luck to you too Jay.
We won't sell if they low bid on our new low price. We have a lot of equity in our home so we will be OK and don't have to sell but want to sell. It is priced at a great deal now.

Congratulations on the next step. It all happens one step at a time, but it will happen. We are still excited about our great adventure in spite of broken bones, surgery, blowouts, electrical events and other setbacks. We are still smiling.

Well the contract gave a ridiculous offer! So we turned it down. I don't know if they will walk or not. We have come down $100,000 and are not going to give it away. We do not have to sell. Will have it paid in 3 years so we may sit on it if these people walk. Another buyer is very interested and may offer a contract next week. May have a bidding war going on. Our price right now is a very good price for a buyer.

We have had our house on the market for over two years. We are selling commercial so it will require the right buyer. I have been making improvements for the last six months. We will be taking it off the market in the next week or so, with the improvements we have made, we may just decide to stay here. Especially with fuel costs being what they are. I hope things work out for your benefit.

Congratulations to you! I hope that fulltiming is all you want it to be. I know we are enjoying living fulltime in Elly Mae - even if we don't travel so much it is still fun!

Thanks all for the encouragement!
These people may come back with another offer. We feel they will and also our realtor does too.
Other people that were interested in writing a contract could not be approved. Or could not afford our property.

They came back with an acceptable offer. $1,500 below our asking price but they want our Mosquito machine!!!! Noooooo!!! They can not have it! Those things cost anywhere from $500 to $1500 and I think they are hard to find these days. We plan to take it with us. We keep it chained up. We may accept this offer. I think they are trying to see how far they can go, asking for the mosquito machine. But they are not going to get it!!

We are now almost "homeless". The buyers accepted our counter offer.
We have until Oct 1st to be out of the house. If we can't get everything done by then, we are not doing something right.

Dusty and Don,
Congratulations! We have had our house on the market since mid-April and have had 2 different serious lookers (both came back 3 times each), but no offers. With the exception of the last 2 weeks we have been averaging 2 viewings a week and had one this morning.
Like you, we don't need to sell and have no intention of giving this place away. We have done our homework and know it is priced right. There a couple of comparable homes in the adjoining neighborhood that are priced $50,000 less than us, but we know they are looking for a quick sale. Our listing agreement expires in October. If it hasn't sold by then, we will take off the market until next spring and then decide if we want to sell or not.

We had our house on the market back when 911 hit and the bottom fell out then also. We just waited it out (18 months) and finally sold it. It was a frustrating 18 months but no sense in throwing thousands down the drain. We got rediculous offers also and those same people where upset when we sold it to another family. We finally got our asking price which was $25,000.00 over what we counter offered to the rediculous offers. When it is the buyers market they think they hold all the cards and want to feel they got a great deal. The right buyer will come along just hang in there to all those selling. It can't stay like this forever. Good Luck!!

CON GRADS DUSTY.
Your very lucky, and I am happy for you. RIght now not only housing prices are down but to qualify is TUFF. The banks are really requiring darn near 20 percent down and for most buyers that is really out of the question.
I am glad you are going to be HOMELESS and HAPPY. YOUR TURN OZZ
