Spoke too soon

Went to take my shower this evening and no hot water. Not in bathroom or kitchen. Nothing comes out of the hot water tap; cold flows fine.

Turned hot water heater to propane but perhaps should have done it earlier. Don't know if that would have made a difference.

Hot water "pipe" in kitchen cabinet feels warm but no flow from hot side of tap.

Fridge ok do far. Turned it to propane just for giggles.

Low tonight around -6. No shower for me tonight. Thank goodness for Handi Wipes!

Sorry if any typos; on my phone.

Betty

Do you have an electric heater that you could put in the belly storage pointed towards the rear of the storage compartment? Also if you have small fan that you could put in there as well, this will help circulate the heat towards where the water lines are. I did this with my SOB a couple of years ago and was able to thaw the frozen line. Hope this helps. Tim

Sounds like the check valve on the back of the water heater has gone bad. That will cut off all hot water,

Sounds like the check valve to me as well. You can feel the back of the HW heater, if it is hot then it is not a heating problem but likely a water flow problem related to the check valve coming apart. If you have cold water then not likely a frozen line.

Agreed with the check valve. We have ours on electric and have good hot water. We put ceramic heaters in the belly to keep the pipes warm. 10 below up here and so far so good.

It's possible when you froze up it destroyed the check valve. Just thinking. If your interested in skirting www.ezsnapdirect.com has some but its just material. Not insulated. When checking out use VIP10 and get 10% off.
