Yellow porch light

We can not get our porch light to come on. The scare lights are working fine. Bob has replaced the bulb with a new one, checked the fuses, flipped the breaker but it still won't come on.

Anyone have any problems with theirs?

Don't want to haul the Monty back to the dealership for somenthing that we can fix on our own. We have tried all of the things that we know to do, so it looks like we have to make an appointment for a light.......geeez I wish we were wizards in the fixit area.

You would think that a three month old Monty wouldn't have to address this type of problem. We will call the dealership for information since I haven't had any suggestions here. If we can't fix it ourselves I guess we will have to pull it back to the dealer.

Hope to hear from someone with suggestions so we don't have to go back to the dealership.

Hey DWGal, I dont have an answer for ya, But, I think all the Wizards are having a good time at the Rally.
Wish we were there, Well, Wish we had a trailer first.

The only thing I could think of since you checked everything else is maybe a ground wire has come loose behind the light?
Just thinking out loud.

If there is nothing else in the unit without power then check and make sure a wire did not come loose at either end (at the switch or the light itself). Never had any problems but that is where I would go next based on what you have done and what you are describing.

Start at the bulb socket with 12 V test light than work your way back to the switch than back to fuse panel.

If you have power at the fuse panel an not at the switch it is the wire

When you own an RV you need a way to test both DC and AC volts and AMPS

It's fixed! Bob took off the plate where the light switches are and one of the wires had come loose.

Thanks for the tips on where to look.

awwwwwww .... shucks, it was my best guess.

So would this be my official "First Time I Was Able To Help Someone"
on this forum ?

Actually, i told her behind the light, They found the loose wire behind the switch, So it doesnt really count.

As long as we're all having some fun.

Blue ( fellow Texan)

If I could just train the DH... dear hubby to read the boards I wouldn't have to ask all of the questions. I feel like an idiot lots of times when I post questions.... he already knows the answers most of the time. I do really have a grin on my face when I find something out on the boards and then tell him about it, he then relays it on to other friends. Hmmmm I just wink to myself and grin. Got to love my Montana friends.

I am just waiting until I can get to a rally and I will know eveyone and he will be asking my ......."who is that?" I think I will just tell him to read the name tags.

Oh... he didn't know about checking the battery every 30 days. That would be another hint from the forum, but heck who is counting

We had a problem with the same light only ours had shorted and burnt the fixture to the point it needed to be replaced. It actually melted the orange cover. Dealer installed a new one and have had no problems since.
