sealand toilet

I woke up today in my Model 3295(2006) and stepped in a water logged carpet. What a rude awakening! I found the toilet full of water and overflowing on the floor. Of course the basement was flooded,as well. I spent most of the day unloading the basement and drying the carpet and basement with several fans. I never want this to happen again but I do not know what caused the problem in the first place. Why would the water continue to run? The tank was emptied the night before and the cleanout hose was disconnected at that time. Any ideas that would keep this from occuring again?

Doug,
Sounds like the supply piping, or flush valve is either leaking, or the valve itself malfunctioned and leaked causing the stool to overflow. I would get a rebuild kit for the flush assembly. And check the connections for tightness.
If it has a shut off valve, shut it off at night and on in the daytime so you can keep an eye on it.
Good luck, Ozz

Doug,
We had the same problem last fall and then it went away and hasn't done it since. Now we have experiencd restricted water coming in. I think both situations are caused from stuff in the water making the valve malfunction. We notice this more when we use the water pump. Since we have the plastic toilet we are going to replace ours like we did on our previous 5er. Ed tried to get to the valve but would have to remove the toilet to do it and if we've gone that far, we might as well replace.
Happy trails....................

We had the same problem and were told that if you lift up on the pedal you can add water to the bowl. They said it must have stuck and kept running till it overflowed. They changed the flush valve unit and has been ok since.
