Murray the Cop, any idea why they fill them so low? Is that maybe to reduce effort to move the gears and thus improve fuel mileage slightly? And they think the low level is sufficient lube? Just wondering.

You are the reason for my (your) method of oil changes now. While towing I am still going to stick with 3k services, without the coach 5k will do. I still have 56% oil life w/ 5200 miles on this oil, seems to be running perfect. Thanks for helping me save a few bucks along the way! =)

I do not yet understand why a diesel tractor can run for 100,000 miles on synthetic oil with out changing but we are told to change ours every 3,000. ????????????
