USB/110v duplex receptacle

I'm thinking about having my electrician add a couple of outlets similar to the ones in the link below in my 2011 Montana 295RKD. While researching them it occurred to me that the outlet boxes in my camper might not be as deep as those in a house. Do any of you know for sure about the depth of the outlet boxes in our Montanas? I don't particularly want to crawl into my trailer in 100+ degree temperatures we're having here in Oklahoma.

Don’t know about 2011, but my 2007 did not have conventional outlet fixtures.

The walls are only 2" thick. You can get a shallow surface mount box to make it deeper to hold the receptacle withe USB outlets.
Like the one in the bathroom that holds the GFCI receptacle.

My 2012 has shallow boxes but they did put GFCI's in them. I have no idea how deep the receptacle is you are contemplating.

A standard household outlet does not fit. These would work:

Very cool.
Maybe a Legrande Wiremold deep electrical box.

These are use when running electrical conduit on a wall surface. I used them on my garage ceiling to add additional light boxes.

I would remove an existing outlet and measure so you can order the correct size.

USB A to C adapters are readily available (Amazon, Walmart etc..). I use this one in my theater chair outlet so the plug sits flush against the side:

The trailer is in storage at the moment or I would have done that. I had hoped that someone may have already installed something like this and wanted to take advantage of their knowledge rather than reinventing the wheel. I do plan on pulling a receptacle if necessary when I can access the inside of the trailer easily.

I've used similar accessories before and really like to take advantage when possible. What I'm attempting at the moment is a way to eliminate the charger blocks that come with my electronics. We use small fans and and other 120v items in the trailer which makes it inconvenient to switch back and forth plugging/unplugging items. We have E-readers, phones and portable electronics we enjoy so the charging bricks start taking up a lot of spaces.

Thanks for the suggestion,

Larry

The outlets used in most RVs are the junk self contained style.. they use friction clips on the backside to hopefully pierce the insulation of the wire and make electrical contact as well,as hold the sowers inch place

They are often poorly installed and will overheat when used with hi wattage appliances like coffee maker, toaster, etc

Personally I removed every outlet in my RV and replaced using shallow o old work box and commercial grade outlet with screw on terminals

Image of the outlet box needed for use in RVs where you don’t have the wall depth

Second image is backside of self contained outlets used in RVs showing poor connection and next to no contact with wire thru the insulation
