sealand toilet

Whats up with these sealand toilets in the montanas? The toilet does not hold water. Silicon spray used - did not work. Power flushed many times - didn't do the job. This toilet has acted up since day 1. Any comments on this situation? thanks.

I had that problem also. The dealer replaced all of the internal parts and it works great. He said sometimes they don't put the seals in correct.

Out dealer told us to "snap" the foot peddle a couple of times to let the seal set. We have be doing this a bout a year now and the problem has been solved. If we forget to "snap" it will go back to old habit of not holding water.

We solved this problem by turning off the water supply to the unit, holding the foot pedal down and wiping around the seal to removed any particles that may have stuck to the seal. We than put some petroleum jelly (vaseline) around the seal. We did this five months ago and have not had a problem since.

We had the problem when we first got the coach. Dealer replaced the seal and it worked fine for about 2 months. It has now started leaking again--2 days into a three-month trip out west. Isn't that great timing? Guess we'll try the clean and vaseline treatment also.

We bought the 3400RL last June and had the same problem. We followed all the manufacturers procedures, but nothing worked. We contacted Keystone Montana and advised them how unhappy we were and that we had found another brand and would they consider replacing the Sealand with Thetford Model 3409 Aqua-Magic. They agreed.

Can't tell you what a difference in quality this is. We are 100% satisfied. Good luck in replacing yours.

I had same problem in my 2005 2980 RLS Montana. Toilet was replaced under warranty - no questions asked.
