Carl, can you post a pic of your valve installed ?

X2 for Carl! Installed mine about 15 years ago. I am still amazed at the numerous RVers who don't have one. Maybe they can move faster than I can!

Recommend you drill holes and add a couple of stainless steel screws to firmly attach the new valve to the discharge pipe. You can accidentally twist the valve loose removing the cap on the new valve. Happened a couple of times to me but fortunately I had not open the internal drain valve yet.

I went a step beyond. Since all my tanks exit at a single point from the front drop frame section, I cut the discharge pipe and installed an aux valve there and leave my 12" clear section attached just after the elbow. Makes connection easy and don't worry about twisting off a valve on the end.

I will try. I have two issues.
1. The RV is in the shop right now
2. The last place I was at had a power pole that blocked access to the sewer hole behind it. Of course I was setup before finding this. I had to disassemble the boom and I haven't put it back together.

Carl N Susan have the answer. I have done this and it eliminates your issues. Good Luck.
