Broken Floor Vents
We have an '05 2955. It has a floor vent right in front of the galley area and we've broken two of them by stepping on them. They seem to be poorly placed. Anyone else with this experience and any suggestions on solving the problem?

Boxer,
My 2003 had metal vents, and I never had problems breaking it in the galley. Are your metal or plastic? If it's plastic, you can get metal ones at Home depot/Lowes.

Good call, Brad.
While you are at it, get the ones with a damper, so you can balance the heat.
Speaking of heat, the furnace in my model will raise the temperature from the return air 40 degrees at a 55 degree ambient, with 63 degree return air temperature.
The 40 degree rise should be norm, until you get into the 20's and below, I imagine.

Our 3475 has metal ones and we have broken two of them. Not the best built ones and I question about where they put them. Right in front of the reefer. When I have to replace another one I will go to Lowe's or Menard's and the ones with a damper in it and hopefully better built.

Replaced our louvered floor vents with brushed metal ones with dampers after breaking one with the louvers. Haven't had a problem since, so far, and the new ones add another nice touch to the decor.

Been through two. Lowe's replacements are nice.

since the duct isn't too deep, are the louvered vents too deep?

No, it's deep enough for the louvers.
