MOC ID NUMBERS
I know that by right clicking on a members User ID and selecting properties it brings up their Member ID, but is there a way to input a Member ID and pull the User ID?
I've been thinking for quite awhile about how to identify those members who own rigs we see on the road. If for instance I had MOC 1685 on the front and back of the unit and that number could be cross referenced on the forum, you'd know it was my rig.
I thought this might raise the curiousity of other non-member Montana owners as to the fact there is a club more so than just the Montana Owners Com sticker.

Good thought Don. It can be done but I'm not sure the Administrators want to put the extra bucks in that it might need. Maybe they will let us know.
Happy trails......................

Real good idea... I sure would display my MOC number on my Montana ~ or maybe even number AND user name with pride. I'm sure if any of us saw a Monty going down the road with a number, then underneath it read "sreigle & vickir" (just for an example), we probably would not have to rush to our computers to check the number. Of course, Steve & Vicki might want to have EVERYONE know where they are at all times, either.

Dave, names would work also but some of the names are fairly long so that's why I suggested the numbers. Of course Steve and Vicki would just have to put LEGEND on their rig.

Searcher,
If you change the number in this url link it will bring up the members profile.
http://montanaadministrator.forumco....ay~id~1685.asp
if you change 1685 to 311 you will get my profile.
Not sure if this is what you were looking for. Hope it helps.

This is what we did to our bumper sticker. Mind you, you would have to be pretty close to the rig to see it when travelling. We have one on the front and rear of the rig so it can be seen at a campsite. http://community.webshots.com/album/428763210IebtWU
Numbers would be ok for the top front and rear of the rig.

I think that's a great idea! That way when I see a Montana I can write down the number and see who it was instead of jumping into the middle of the street to see if I recognize the driver and risking life and limb. Lots of other clubs do have IDs ever since the Wally Byam caravans of Airstreams.

Sue and Ed: Bought a set of decal letters and just stuck them on. The are self adhesive. Just hard to get them on straight. As Ann keeps reminding me. LOL

The number idea is already being used by some other clubs. The Holiday Rambler club issues numbers to members and the members voluntarily place the numbers in the top front corner of their units. I'm not sure if they recommend 1.5 inch or 2 inch numbers.
I think it's a great idea for MOC to start doing.

I wonder how big a number you need to be seen going down the highway at 60 mph. You need to have them big enough to be seen.

I also really like this idea. And maybe this could be the way to support the growing cost of maintaining this website, i.e., to have my name added to a new, easy to use look up feature, I would have to send in a "membership fee" of $_____.
Most people want to "belong" and to be able to be identified as part of the best owner's club in the country is somethiing that I think will sell itself.
Great idea Don, sure hope it flys. I'd have my "MOC3846" painted on my rig. As a matter of fact, just in support of your idea, I'm going now to add my MOC number to my signature that prints everytime I participate in a topic.

Well, it looks like its contagious. I have added as well. This would be a good discussion topic at the National and Regional rallys.
