We hot glued fiberglass screen on the vents for the fridge. Bought commercial for the others because I also had concerns about the heat.

The heat exhaust from the furnace and gas operation of the hot water heater will melt/burn the fiberglass screen. Better to get the stainless steel ones made for the purpose.

Was told by our dealer service tech not to use screen over these vents. Probably cuz many people don't clean the screens regularly, I'm guessing. He said to put a pet flea collar in the furnace and WH compartments. I do this and never have problems with wasps, etc. Just adding my 2 cents worth

I use metal commercial made for the furnace and flea collars for the rest.

In regards to the flea collars ... just lay or hang it inside the outer fridge compartment?? How long does it last before replacement.

I wrap it around something that's far enough from the flame and it lasts me one summer. Surprised the heck out of me.
