noise when slides move in and out

When we put our slides in and out they squeak even though we have sprayed with silicone lubricant. They have a racketing sound mainly the big slides.

This is now happening to me the last few times I extended and retracted the slides, even though my rig sits in my driveway. I think I need to spray some more areas that I didn't get underneath, but I'm thinking the squeal is from the rubber surrounds that are very dried out from sitting so long and I hope it's the same squeal you mention.

Don't forget to apply conditioner to the surrounding rubber. I haven't done this in a while, but let me know if this helps. I'm gonna use a can of slideout rubber conditioner that I have acquired from an RV store nearby.

I think it was SNFEXPRESS who supplied this: http://lci1.com/images/Flyers/LIPShe...-gear-pack.pdf . Might see if it helps your situation. Jim

Try spraying inside the slide support housing.

Yes, the oil is the preferred way.

Assume slide adjustment still good? If not, resulting drag can create some noise. Over the years I had had to make slight adjustments several times, and noise was first sign. If lubricating does not do the trick, check adjustment.

Is it the seals or does the slide mechanism need lubing (dry lube only)? The ratcheting sound makes me wonder if that's it. Ours will act a little jumpy when they move when they really, really need lubing.
