Problem with plastic floor vents

For those of us that changed the metal floor vents for the plastic type a word of caution. Ann was checking to make sure the vent was in the open position and it would not move. When she pulled the vent out of the floor the plastic base of the vent was distorted due to the heat melting the plastic base. This only happened on the vent closest to the furnace. For your info.

it doesn't take much heat to warp them.

Right you are BillyRay and that's why I replaced my metal ones with adjustable louvered metal vents.
Also weighing in at over 300 pounds I would not want my weight placed on a piece of plastic nor would I want any of my company sticking their foot through the plastic ones.
