I (sunseekers) posted the following on April 19, 2005:
Installed a Fireplace

I installed an electric fireplace in my 2955RL 2003 Montana.

After a lot of measuring and looking for the right size,
I purchased a Dimplex Model DF12309 includes remote on/off,
1440 watt heater/4800BTU for under $300
www.electricfireplaces.com

We just love the looks of the fireplace and the flame looks so real!

To view slides of fireplace - go to picturetrail below.

To answer the question about heat protection.
The heat comes from the front top of the unit.
Only the top front 1" ridge get hot to touch. No heat anywhere else.
There is 8-10" of air space from top of fireplace to above shelf
and the top board you see does not touch the top of the fireplace.

The fireplace can be taken out without touching anything.
We plan to use the fireplace year around - 5th & home.

I (sunseeker) posted Oct 28, 2005 the following:
Moved Fireplace into home

Last spring I installed an electric fireplace in our 5th wheel.
I have now moved the fireplace insert into our Az home.
I made a cabinet to fit the fireplace insert and a shelf for the VCR and satelite receiver. The TV sets on the top.
We can now enjoy our fireplace year-round.
Photos are on the link below.

I hope the above informaion will help you.

Sunseekers, Thanks so much for the information on this. We have the same model and want to put it in the same spot.
