3971rd galley tank odor drain loose?

I have a 2018 3971rd with the center Island and separate galley tank. After arriving at our destination last year, my lovely wife was running water in the sink and found that it was running out on the floor from the drain. During our trip, we had traveled on a particularly poorly maintained highway and it had shaken the drain plumbing under the sink loose. I was able to re-attach everything and clean up the mess but ever since then, whenever we run a vent, it creates a negative pressure in the cabin that creates an especially nasty funk. There is no doubt it is coming from under the sink and I have removed and inspected the anti-siphon trap vent and all looks pretty good.

I have a suspicion that the connection between the sink plumbing and the galley tank is not solid. I think this because I can grab the drain pipe that goes into the floor and it moves fairly easily and I think the smell is coming up through the floor where the drain pipe goes through (although I can't confirm it). Any ideas on how to resolve or confirm other than pull the belly and check out the galley tank? Has anyone else had this problem?

It sounds like you do need to remove the coroplast and inspect. This is not hard to do but if you really want to see what's going on under there then i don't think you have much option. As you say, these roads are rough and you may have a coupling that has come loose or a part. I figure though if a joint has come completely a part then you would have water filling the coroplast and leaking around the edges. Good luck.

I agree with Texan. The only way to shore up the connection is to drop the coroplast and see what's going on. You can back flush the tank to get rid of the smell, but that only treats the symptom, not the cause. I use a Flush King to clean out our tanks regularly. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I think you are talking about the air admittance valve or what some call a quick vent. Commonly used on island sinks. If that is the case I'd replace it before I tried anything else. My experience is they can look good but not function correctly. They don't cost much, pretty easy to change, and a lot less work then digging into the underbelly. Then if the smell persist move to the more labor intensive task.

No need to remove the coroplast. Just cut an inspection hole in it. Cut it on 3 sides leaving the uncut side towards the front to create a hinge. After your inspection, simply tape it back up with Gorilla tape. I have multiple access holes cut into ours that have been there for years and get can get to most anything by simply opening up an access hole.
