I also upgraded to 80 amp for our pump, I also increased the wire size and used locomotive cable (more strands), also added more breakers so no wires where doubled up on one breaker.

Did you ever get a solution to this. I replaced mine just like so many pictures show and it still cuts out. I think it even tries to work with the CB tripped.

Can you post a clear picture of your breakers and note which you changed? Would help for further comments.
Possibly you changed the wrong one. Someone posted a pic once upon a time showing their two breakers were wired in series. That was obviously wrong.

Are you sure you replaced the correct one? There is 2.

The hydraulic pump for the leveling system and slides should be on one breaker, the other breaker is for the rest of the trailer. the wire from the batteries should go to the 50A first, the jumper to the other breaker. I can't see where the wires are coming from or going to.

Here are a couple better pictures. I took one of the entire area and one of the top where the big red wire connects to the pump. Thanks for taking time to look at this.

It's about 3 years old. I think anyway. I tested it and it shows over 13 volts.

Something is haywire, it shouldn't attempt to work with the breaker tripped.

I agree. I am going to test it again tomorrow and make sure it does that. I thought it was tripped once and the slides tried to move. I appreciate your assistance.

Wiring appears correct. Is that a manual reset breaker?

Before you do anything else, remove the cables from the batteries and clean all that corrosion off. You may have low voltage due to the corrosion and that can also damage your pump motor. Connections need to be spotless and maybe some battery terminal spray would also be good. This may not fix the problem, but clean and tight connections are a must. Also check and tighten every connection you can get too, from the batteries up. You may be surprised how loose some connections might be.

Yes it is a manual reset. I will clean the battery and all connections and see if that helps.

Thanks

Are you having to push the reset button on the breaker? If that 80 amp breaker is tripping and you are having to push the reset then you got something drawing way to many amps.
If you are not having to push the reset button, then the breaker is not tripping and is not the problem unless it is a flaky breaker.
I agree with Bob. Definitely clean that corrosion on the battery. May well be your problem.

I am all electric. Guess I should still replace my breaker? Need to check amp rating first but would like to hear recommendations from folks with all electric. Thanks!

Who has a part number for the Bussman breaker
