Max air vent cover which one?

Can someone tell me which vent cover you are using over the rain sensor max air fans (the one in kitchen area and in the bathroom) on the 2020 Montana 3854BR. I have been told twice that the max air 2 covers will work. They don’t. They are only 10.25 inches interior height. The vent doors open to at least 13” when fully open. Thanks

I had to go outside and look at mine. They are Fanmates. I bought the smoke gray I think. They are not opaque - some light still comes thru.

This is the one with the EZ clip hardware. Takes 5 minutes to install.

And yes they are not as tall as the fan opens. No problem. The fan lid hits the cover and stops.
It works fine.

We have the MaxAir 2 in black on both of ours. The vents do not open all the way, but they work just fine.

I bought 2 of these for mine and they work perfect with no height issues.

Thanks for everyone’s quick responses. I don’t believe anyone makes a vent cover for any brand fan on a RV that has an interior height greater that 10.5 inches. E-trailer in their max air vent cover section posted that they contacted Max Air (airxcel) and specifically asked if having the lid not open fully whether or not that would cause any damage to the motor and they told them “No”. It would work fine as the fan is designed to stop opening once it sensed a restriction so using the shallow vent covers was not an issue. Thanks again for the responses. By the way, the E-trailer site has a lot of questions from buyers about this exact issue and E-trailer responds with a lot of info. It’s one of the best sites on the web I believe.

+1 for MaxxAir 2. They allow a bit of light to pass through them and look very nice on the unit.

I prefer being able to run them when it’s raining. We home base in Washington, so it’s kind of necessary.

The rain sensor only triggers for me in a very heavy rain. I think I’ve had it go off twice. Once was during a flash flood warning in the Black Hills.

Does the 331rl have the quick connect tabs on the vents or does it require drilling to install the maxxairs?

Here is a you tube video of the install. 4 min 18 sec in shows the brackets sticking up through the decor that you pin the cover in with.
