Stonewall Resort

We have reservations for Stonewall Resort in West Virginia. We live in Florida, so we want to see the change of colors. Will be there in Early to Mid October.

Anyone have any experience in this campground?

I have not stayed there, but have heard nothing but good things about it. It is in a great part of the state with plenty of scenic areas to sight see. It is close to Canaan Valley, Blackwater Falls, Spruce Knob, Dolly Sods, Seneca Rocks, and a few other scenic areas. By close, I mean an hour or hour and a half drive. You can actually take a day trip and loop around and see practically all of the above in a long day. The time frame you will be there should be close to peak color time, depending on weather changes.

We stayed there a couple of years ago, very nice park with large sites. There's a big lodge there too. But its was in a valley, so no TV, no cable, no cell, and no lights. If you are into star gazing, its the place.

When we were there, the GPS took us right past the place entrance, so keep an eye out.
